About
Mostly Sane Media is a small, independent media studio obsessed with local stories, real people, and the slightly feral magic of community life.
We’re building this company the same way most good things are built: slowly, intentionally, and with a lot of coffee.
Our first flagship project is Folks of the Oaks—a free monthly community-focused, family-friendly publication for the Seven Oaks community in Odenton, Maryland that spotlights local families, small businesses, kid-approved happenings, and the everyday legends growing right in our own backyard. The first issue is currently in the works, and this site is the home base while we build it out.
We’re not a faceless corporation. We’re a real, family-centered operation that believes:
Local businesses deserve more than generic ads no one reads
Families deserve resources that feel human, honest, and actually helpful
Communities get stronger when we know each other’s stories
Mostly Sane Media exists to bring all of that together—on the page, online, and eventually at live events and collaborations.
Where We’re Going
Right now, we’re:
Developing our first print and digital issue of Folks of the Oaks
Building a network of local sponsors and partners who care about families and community
Lining up stories, spotlights, and features that make you think, laugh, and say, “Oh, I didn’t know that was here.”
This website will grow as we do. Expect to see:
Updates on upcoming issues
Ways to get your business or organization featured
Opportunities for community members to contribute stories, photos, and ideas
How to Get Involved
If you’re a local business, community organization, or just a person with a story to tell, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you want to:
Sponsor a section like Saplings (our kid + family zone),
Run a thoughtful, well-designed ad,
Pitch a story or idea for a future issue,
you’re in the right place.
This is the start, not the final form. We’re building Mostly Sane Media in real time—if you’re reading this, you’re early. 🖤
